For the offices of Tzachi Vazana Architects, the “Contour” ceiling system by ECOPET was selected—a demountable, shaped ceiling crafted from recycled polyester (PET) in shades of pearl white and golden terracotta. The ceiling integrates a precise geometric pattern with an interplay of depth, light, and texture, transforming the overhead plane into a design element with a commanding presence.
The ECOPET Contour ceiling features precise, laser-cut geometric grooves arranged in a modern grid pattern. These grooves create a three-dimensional effect that shifts with the viewing angle and lighting, imbuing the ceiling with a visual rhythm and a sense of depth. The combination of pearl white and golden terracotta adds material and chromatic interest, while maintaining a minimalist and balanced aesthetic.
Beyond its design language, the Contour tiles also provide an acoustic solution, thanks to the material’s inherent properties and the tiles’ structural design. Made from recycled polyester, the tiles are lightweight and engineered for straightforward installation and maintenance. The demountable system ensures access to the plenum space above the ceiling, while offering the design flexibility required for a contemporary workspace.
This project demonstrates how a ceiling can serve as an integral component of a workspace’s overall design language. By combining geometric patterns, complementary hues, and a material with acoustic properties, the ECOPET Contour ceiling bridges aesthetics, functionality, and precision in detail.
