At the Ronit Elkabetz School of Arts and Sciences in Rishon LeZion, the selected ceiling solutions and wall claddings combine color, texture, and acoustic performance, tailored to the specific character of the building’s various spaces. The integration of PET tiles in varying shades, colorful wall claddings, and acoustic mineral wool ceilings creates a diverse material palette, lending a unique character to every area of the school.

For the central spaces on each floor, ECOPET A Tiles—a suspended ceiling system made from recycled polyester (PET) fibers—were chosen. Different color schemes were selected for the school’s two buildings: a “sea sand” tone for one and a “forest green” for the other. This color-coding gives each structure a distinct identity while maintaining a cohesive design language throughout the floors. The tiles feature decorative grooves that add visual depth, movement, and texture to the ceiling, transforming it into a significant design element within the central spaces. Beyond their unique aesthetic, the tiles contribute to improved acoustic conditions and are installed on a standard 60×60 cm ceiling grid. Acoustic wall panels by ECOPET—crafted from polyester fibers—have been integrated into the classrooms to reduce reverberation and enhance sound quality. Selected in a variety of shades—Midnight Black, Granite, Space Gray, and Cloudy—these panels add visual interest and allow for the creation of diverse color and texture combinations within the learning environment. Beyond their acoustic benefits, the panels offer design flexibility through their range of colors and cuts, while also incorporating recycled materials—a key aspect of the project’s material selection.

For the classroom ceilings, two types of acoustic systems were chosen: *Suprano A*—a white, silk-finish glass wool lay-in ceiling—and *Graphite A*—a black, matte-finish glass wool lay-in ceiling. *Suprano A* features a bright, clean aesthetic with straight, hardened, and painted edges, resulting in a neat, uniform appearance. In contrast, *Graphite A* lends the space a darker, more commanding presence, establishing a distinct design atmosphere through its deep hue and matte finish. Both systems deliver high-level acoustic performance, effectively addressing the varied requirements of the learning spaces. The combination of PET ceilings in natural tones, colorful wall cladding, and mineral wool ceilings in white and black finishes creates a diverse range of material and design solutions throughout the school. The project demonstrates how an informed selection of ceiling and wall-cladding systems can integrate acoustics, durability, and design flexibility—contributing to a learning environment that is pleasant, functional, and possesses a distinct visual identity.
