The Site 70 project in Modi’in was designed as a modern and dynamic work environment, combining open work spaces alongside transition and movement areas. The design emphasizes creating a functional, pleasant and precise environment, while integrating ceiling solutions that provide a response to both the acoustic requirements and the architectural language of the project.
In most of the work spaces and public areas, Nittobu B ceiling was chosen – acoustic tiles directly glued to the background ceiling. The choice of the system made it possible to preserve the industrial look of the space, while creating an efficient and aesthetic acoustic solution. The acoustic wool tiles, measuring 60×120 cm and 40 mm thick, provide exceptionally high sound absorption performance (NRC 0.95), contributing to a quieter and more comfortable work environment.
The project combined gray tiles with custom-selected light blue tiles, while the exposed systems and infrastructure above them were painted in matching shades. Choosing this approach creates a uniform and meticulous look, in which the ceiling and systems integrate into a single design language, while maintaining a sense of height, openness, and industrial character.
In the entrance hallway, a black Linear Grid (LG) open ceiling was chosen by Hecht & Ephraim. The linear louver system creates a clear linear rhythm that accompanies the movement of users and emphasizes the central passage axis. The 60×120 cm free-form tiles, combined with 20/45 mm beams, give the ceiling a minimalist and precise look, along with easy access to the systems installed above it for routine maintenance purposes.
The combination of Nittobu B direct-attach ceiling and LG’s open system creates a balance between acoustics, functionality and aesthetics. The result is a contemporary workspace with a uniform material language that successfully combines a clean industrial look with high performance and ease of maintenance.
