Institute for National Security Studies INSS – Designed by architect Ruth Alush
The new design of the INSS Institute’s spaces combines advanced aesthetics, acoustic functionality, and a quiet and intelligent work experience, just as required by one of Israel’s most important institutions for policy and security research.
Cascade partitions in the central space
In the open space, Cascade partitions from ECOPET were chosen – decorative hanging screens made of recycled polyester (PET) that allow for a natural division of the space while maintaining a sense of openness.
The partitions absorb noise, create visual and acoustic privacy, and let in light in a soft and controlled manner.
They are safe to use, do not absorb dust or microscopic creatures, are highly durable, and are particularly suitable for dynamic spaces.
Linear ceiling in the central space
A Linear ceiling from ECOPET was chosen above the space – a modular striped system made of recycled polyester (PET) in a deep blue shade.
The system provides a geometric architectural appearance, a sense of depth and visual cleanliness, combined with excellent acoustic performance.
The stripes are cut precisely to create a uniform linear movement, with a clean, easy installation, and without harmful materials.
Perforated plasterboard ceiling in the corridors
Perforated plasterboard panels were installed in the institution’s corridors, creating a continuous, clean ceiling with no visible profiles.
The decorative perforation adds visual interest, improves acoustics and allows impressive design flexibility.
Workspaces and offices – Soprano A ceiling
In the work spaces, Soprano A ceiling from Nitobo was chosen – glass wool tiles with a silky white finish, which provide a luxurious look and a sense of brightness in the space.
With hardened edges, a fine texture and an exceptionally high NRC, this is an ideal solution for places where acoustics are part of professional performances.
Recording and Podcasting Studio – Black Wood Wool Ceiling
A black wood wool ceiling was chosen in the recording studios to create an intimate, deep and focused atmosphere.
The natural material provides excellent acoustic performance, a warm texture and a unique appearance suitable for creative spaces.
Main Conference Room – “The Strategic Room”
In the main conference room, a Nittobo B ceiling was chosen in direct adhesion.
The 40 mm thick tiles in a gray shade provide a clean look and tell a story of precise design with a high NRC (0.95).
This is a ceiling with exceptional acoustic performance, creating a quiet, focused and professional space and discussion.
