The Government Quarters project in Ofakim, designed by Fischer Elhanani Architects, was designed as a contemporary public building that combines representation, functionality, and a clean architectural language. Already in the entrance hall, the emphasis is evident on creating an open, bright, and inviting space, in which the ceiling is a central design element that enhances the sense of space and accompanies the visitor’s experience from the very first moment.
In the foyer, a QUADRA-DECOR ceiling from Durlum Germany was chosen – an open aluminum ceiling system, characterized by a clean geometric appearance and a multi-directional structure that creates a feeling of lightness and airiness. The elements are designed in a wavy and stepped structure, which creates a subtle play of light and shadow and gives the ceiling depth and movement, while maintaining a precise and uniform architectural language.
The system is based on 60×120 cm detachable tiles, which are held together by a hidden suspension system, which allows for quick disassembly and assembly for maintenance purposes, without damaging the continuous appearance of the ceiling. This solution combines meticulous aesthetics with operational convenience, a significant advantage in public buildings.
The aluminum tiles are made from 1.0 mm thick aluminum sheet, with a high-quality oven-painted finish, and the system can be ordered in a wide range of RAL colors according to the project’s language. The QUADRA-DECOR model is characterized by a unique decorative perforation that combines round openings with diameters of 4 mm and 9 mm, which create visual interest and allow for uniform and pleasant diffusion of natural and artificial light. In addition, the dimensions of the elements can be adjusted according to the architect’s requirements and the unique needs of the project.
The combination of a hidden suspension system, unique geometry, high-quality aluminum finish, and wide adjustment options creates a ceiling with an impressive architectural presence, which naturally integrates into the public space and gives the entrance hall a modern, elegant, and timeless appearance.
