Rubinstein Estates – Independent Living, designed by Oberzon Architects, was designed as a luxurious living space for the elderly, combining high quality of life with meticulous design, functional comfort and advanced acoustic performance. The project includes a wide range of public and private spaces, with each area selected a ceiling system adapted to its purpose, while creating a uniform, elegant and timeless material language.
In the performance auditorium, acoustic panels from ECOPET were selected – vertical elements made of acoustic polyester (PET), designed to improve sound absorption in large spaces. The project selected panels in a wavy pattern and a gray shade, which create a dynamic ceiling with gentle movement and give the space an elegant and modern character. The linear structure, together with the connecting profile, provides a continuous and clean appearance, while maintaining a sense of height and airiness. The baffles are manufactured using advanced fiber technology, without the use of adhesives or harmful materials, and combine high acoustic performance with an impressive design presence, which contributes to the quality of the listening experience in the hall.
A Linear Grid (LG) ceiling manufactured by Hecht & Ephraim was incorporated into the passageways and hallways of the floors. The open ceiling system creates a precise linear rhythm and gives the spaces a sense of depth and airiness, along with full accessibility to the systems installed above it. The project selected 4×25 mm beams and 60×120 cm loose tiles, which create a minimalist and contemporary look that is particularly suitable for public passageways.
A Drop-In metal ceiling was selected for the elevator passages, which combines a clean look with high functionality. The tiles were installed on a T15 construction, and in combination with ROYALIN acoustic fleece, they provide acoustic performance of up to NRC 0.8. The system allows for full design flexibility, with the option of choosing the type of perforation, its density and the dimensions of the tiles according to the project requirements.
A perforated metal tray ceiling with diagonal chamfers manufactured by Hecht & Ephraim was incorporated on the office floor. The system combines clean lines with a particularly practical solution, allowing quick and convenient access to the systems above the ceiling for maintenance purposes. The perforated trays, combined with ROYALIN acoustic fleece, provide acoustic performance of up to NRC 0.8, and can be manufactured in customized dimensions and in a selection of perforation patterns according to the architect’s requirements.
Perforated gypsum boards were selected in the entrance lobby and waiting areas, combining a clean and minimalist appearance with a significant improvement in the quality of the acoustic environment. The choice of these boards contributes to the creation of quiet, pleasant and inviting spaces, which give residents and guests a sense of calm from the moment they enter the building.
The combination of acoustic ceiling systems, open metal ceilings, advanced PET solutions and perforated plaster ceilings creates a complete architectural envelope, combining functionality, easy maintenance and meticulous design. The result is a quality, quiet and inviting living environment, adapted to the high standards of a prestigious project for the elderly.
