The Auditorium Mall project, designed by architects Pini Weinberg and Avital Hamo, was designed as a contemporary commercial space that combines movement, openness and a dynamic architectural language.
As part of the design concept, ceiling solutions were selected that emphasize the geometry of the space and create a modern and precise user experience.
In all the central spaces of the mall, a white metal baffle ceiling was chosen from Hecht & Ephraim – an open linear beam ceiling that gives the space depth, rhythm and movement. Unlike the standard linear application, in this project the beams were placed diagonally, with connections at 45-degree angles created in the corners of the space. The choice of this unique application creates a dynamic and precise geometric appearance, which gives the ceiling a striking architectural presence and enhances the sense of flow in the space.
The baffle system allows for wide design flexibility through a variety of sizes, spacings, and perforation options, along with the ability to incorporate acoustic filling materials according to project requirements. This project incorporated acoustic solutions that significantly improve the quality of the public space while maintaining an open and airy appearance.
In addition, the baffle ceiling allows for integration with building systems and can even be used as a cooling ceiling, depending on the system design, making it a functional solution alongside the aesthetic value it provides to the space.
The combination of diagonal geometry, white color, and open appearance creates a ceiling with a unique character, which is an integral part of the project’s architectural language.
