Hecht & Ephraim are proud to present the first chapter of the blog for architects and interior designers.
The topic that Omer Hod chose to expand on is – 5 metal ceilings that you must know:
Hook-on ceiling.
Lamella ceiling.
LP ceiling.
Open cell system (T-cell / Quadro).
Loop 3 ceiling.
If you wish, you can leave details right here.
We hope you enjoy!
Hello everyone, I am Omer Hod from Hecht Ephraim
Hecht Ephraim, for those who do not know, is a company that manufactures and imports acoustic ceilings and interior and exterior cladding products for buildings.
Hecht Ephraim has been manufacturing metal ceilings for 10 years and that’s what I’d like to talk to you about today
When you think of metal ceilings, you probably think of 60 x 60 tiles, Fine Line construction, and probably maybe 60-width trays and variable widths
So, yes, there are these systems, and they are excellent for certain situations. But in recent years, there have been many inspiring innovations that suit every practical and acoustic design requirement. I would like to go over five such systems with you today and see how they suit us on a daily basis.
The first system I would like to touch on is the Hook-On system.
The Hook-On ceiling has been known in Israel for many years, it is very popular and for good reason, the system provides a continuous ceiling with a completely concealed installation and with the help of our advanced production it allows for a whole range of sizes, colors, different perforations and even expanded meshes. It allows for a design and acoustic choice that suits every situation.
A second system I would like to go over with you today is the lamellae system.
As someone who has been dealing with ceilings since he was a little boy, I always enjoy seeing a product that is updated over the years.
The lamella system has been able to offer itself over and over again for a long time. The ceiling consists of a lamella profile that sits on a cross-girder that anchors it to a concrete ceiling above. The lamella can be placed at different intervals on the girder, thus creating a different design look or creating a different space for the lighting that we put there.
As you can hear the noise of the factory in the background, today with the help of our tailor-made production, you can get the lamellas in different widths, different heights, different color shades, and you can even get a wood-look print of your choice. There are shades in stock, and there are shades that you can give us. The lamellas can even be obtained in a variety of perforations with glued felt and glass wool, in order to provide the perfect acoustic solution in places where it is required.
The slide and drop ceiling, developed by our business partner from Germany, Durlum, maintains all of these features and provides an easy maintenance solution at a level you’ve probably never seen before. Using a dedicated profile and two V-bends at the edge of the tile, the system allows the tile to be lowered to the bottom of the profile and slid to reach the systems above. This way, we don’t have to lower the tile to the floor with the possibility of damaging it, especially at high heights. When we finish installing and servicing the systems above, we actually slide the tile back and secure it to the ceiling as it was before. This option allows us to maintain the ceiling for many years, and maintain it throughout these years as if it were installed just yesterday.
The open cell system is another interesting system, this is a system installed by Durlum and it’s really something you don’t see every day. With precise and intricate manufacturing that is built to be disassembled and reinstalled repeatedly for years and years, you can have a ceiling that no one can remain indifferent to.
The T-cell and Quattro Ann ceilings, with the help of special perforations and changes in the height of the tiles, provide a special dispersion of light in the space with a spectacular appearance. If you think the ceiling is beautiful but are afraid of a complicated installation, you have nothing to worry about. Tiles that come in sizes 60 x 1.2 or different sizes according to your needs fit together perfectly with each other for a full look on their outer profile. They undergo extensive testing at Duralum factories so that the tiles can withstand repeated disassembly and installation for many years. When in years to come the ceiling will still look like the day you installed it.
Another interesting system is the LP system. Systems with a changing and non-standard appearance, always give us an interesting aspect to the ceiling every time we look at it. This is exactly where the LP tray system comes into play.
In this ceiling that we produce in our factories, you can get trays that play with the different widths of the tile. The special system profile (which Hassa tries to design on the computer) allows us to have a subtle and interesting separation between the tiles in a hidden way, along with full continuity of the trays that are suitable for any area chosen for it. As a result of using metal as a raw material, we get a product whose disassembly and installation are durable for years, there is no need to be careful not to touch In the delicate tile with dirty hands and we will ruin it or we will put the tile aside for a moment and its edges will be damaged. We can disassemble each tile separately and put it back in place. This will maintain its design appearance, and its integrity throughout any period we want.
The last system that I would like to touch on today is the Loop 3 system.
The Loop 3 system is a particularly interesting system because it is not one system but a system consisting of two ceilings that give a unique final result. The Loop 3 ceiling manufactured by Durlum presents a modern design and planning that you simply do not see every day. Its first part consists of a system of detached tiles, hidden in suspension, which are perforated with fleece for a perfect acoustic solution. In the second system, the special design aspect actually comes.
The system of the lower tiles is fully protected by the upper system, with its circles perfectly integrating with the circles of the tile that follows it, in this way we get a perfectly smooth look that maintains uniformity for any ceiling size chosen. In this way, when we want to reach the system above the ceiling. We remove the protected tile and reach the detached ceiling above, when we remove the tile there, we repair the systems. When we finish repairing, we return the tile and the lower tile is magnetized back completely as if we had not touched it.
Together with the ceiling there is integral spot lighting from Durlum, which is specially adapted to this system and fits inside the circles. In this way, you get a complete system that is assembled in a Filled with thought from start to finish.
