The Cardiology Department at Rambam Medical Center, designed by Ita Lotan, was designed with the goal of creating a pleasant, clear, and relaxing medical environment for patients and medical staff alike. The architectural design combines warm materials with functional ceiling solutions, while ensuring accessibility to systems, high acoustic performance, and a clean and meticulous appearance.

Different ceiling systems were integrated throughout the department, with each area selected a solution tailored to the nature of the activity and maintenance requirements.

A walnut-colored grooved MDF ceiling was chosen in the entrance lobbies and public spaces, which gives the space a feeling of warmth and softness alongside a precise architectural appearance. The 16 mm thick grooved wood tiles create a delicate linear rhythm in the ceiling and integrate well with the material language of the department. The back of the tile is coated with ROYALIN acoustic fleece, which contributes to improving acoustic absorption and creating a quieter and more pleasant environment. The 60×60 cm tiles are placed on Fine Line profiles, which complement the clean and precise look.

A white drop-in metal ceiling was applied in the counter areas, providing a clean, functional and easy-to-maintain solution in an intensive environment. The standard 61×61 cm tiles allow for design flexibility and full compliance with project requirements. Combined with ROYALIN acoustic fleece, acoustic performance of up to NRC 0.8 is achieved, along with a uniform and meticulous appearance.

In the corridor areas, metal tray ceilings manufactured by Hecht & Efraim were selected, which combine ease of installation and design flexibility with high accessibility to the systems above the ceiling. The trays can be ordered in customized dimensions in length and width according to the architectural vision, and allow for quick and easy disassembly for maintenance purposes. Combined with ROYALIN acoustic fleece, acoustic performance of up to NRC 0.8 is achieved.
