Acoustic Solutions | Hecht Afraim, Connectors Design and Execution

From Hecht & Efraim

There is a direct correlation between students’ productivity and concentration and the acoustics in the work environment they are in. Studies conducted in various work environments prove that noise is the number one cause of distraction for students. Noise not only impairs the student’s concentration, but also their ability to feel part of the lesson itself while paying attention to what the teacher is saying.

If we borrow the topic to the workplace – the office, then noise can also damage their privacy. Whether the employee is talking on the phone or is in a meeting – it is of great importance that those who are near that employee do not hear the content of the conversation.

Wool ceiling chord

In the design of classrooms and offices or in the design of work environments, acoustic solutions are divided according to the types of spaces:

Public spaces for relaxation such as: the dining room, the reception room and open seating areas

Shared work and study spaces where the employees’ positions or students’ desks are adjacent to each other

Open meeting spaces for brainstorming sessions and team meetings or libraries

Closed meeting spaces for confidential meetings

Each of these spaces requires different acoustic solutions. Therefore, in the design of acoustics in work environments, we, at Hecht & Ephraim, use a wide variety of solutions applied to: walls, ceilings and partitions. The insulation materials in plasterboard partitions come in a variety of thicknesses, a variety of perforations, a variety of acoustic insulation coefficients and a variety of density levels – so that the level of acoustic insulation can be adjusted to the specific requirements of the space.

For example, we adapt acoustic solutions to the design: In different work spaces, it is possible to combine several elements that absorb noise and reduce reverberation, such as: gypsum tiles, mineral tiles and wood chip tiles – to obtain the perfect acoustic response depending on the size of the space and the functions it will serve. In order not to harm the integrity of the design style, it is recommended to use floating elements in the space from the OLYMPUS series, to create excellent acoustics in a designed and creative way.

Metal cassette wall cladding

Hecht & Ephraim has a wide range of mineral ceilings with different NCR acoustic coefficients. So with the help of proper planning and advice from one of our experts, we can help stop or channel sound in different directions to disperse and eliminate it in the space.

In addition to the high acoustic insulation, Hecht & Ephraim’s interior cladding systems also provide work environments with excellent thermal insulation, which significantly reduces the costs of heating and cooling the building. Gypsum boards also help prevent moisture in the walls, thereby preventing the development of fungus that can harm the health of employees. Insulation technologies create advanced acoustic and thermal insulation materials that lead the world of insulation in Israel.

These are just some of the features that make more and more architects and interior designers prefer to use Hecht & Ephraim’s gypsum boards, mineral ceilings, and various voids, which prevent unnecessary noise in the workplace and study space and, in addition, keep the structure, air, and work environment clean and healthy.
