Dripsi Diner – Designed by Mor Gaash
The Dripsi Diner project built a culinary space with an urban character, rough and precise, one that combines a strong visual experience with acoustic comfort and everyday functionality.
The design emphasizes ceilings as a central element in the design, one that defines areas, creates depth and provides a response to the various needs of an active and dynamic restaurant space.
In the heart of the space – a black Expanded mesh ceiling was selected in the Hook-On system
In the center of the restaurant, a black Expanded Mesh Hook-On ceiling from Hecht & Efraim was selected – a continuous-looking metal ceiling system, which gives the space a sense of lightness, depth and natural air flow.
The trays are hiddenly suspended on top profiles, without visible connections, and allow easy access to infrastructure, ongoing maintenance and maintaining a uniform and clean design line.
The Expanded mesh, produced in a variety of openings and patterns, creates a rich texture and a dynamic three-dimensional appearance, which changes depending on the lighting and viewing angles.
This is a solution that manages to be both a dominant design element and a precise, durable and effective engineering solution for commercial spaces.
Above the expanded ceiling, glass wool-graphite tiles from Nitobo were incorporated. Black acoustic tiles with a high level of noise absorption.
The tiles were glued directly to the ceiling above the mesh, creating an effective acoustic solution without damaging the open and dramatic appearance of the ceiling.
The combination of the metal mesh and the acoustic tiles allows for design freedom, depth and interest, along with important acoustic comfort in a busy restaurant space.
Further down the space – a Soprano B40 ceiling with direct adhesion.
In other parts of the restaurant, the Soprano B40 ceiling from Nitobo was chosen – a white ceiling with direct adhesion, 40 mm thick and measuring 60×120 cm.
The tiles provide an acoustic solution of an exceptionally high level (NRC 0.95), while maintaining a clean, modern and precise appearance.
The ability to combine a visible decorative ceiling with a quiet and restrained acoustic solution allows the creation of a balanced space, one that responds to the various uses of the restaurant throughout the day.
A project in which materials, acoustics and design come together to create a complete experience – from the ceiling to the table.
