Noise-insulating partitions

From Hecht & Ephraim

In an open work environment, what is called in slang “open space”, we are exposed to every action of our coworkers, we find ourselves quoted without wanting to have conversations, distracted by ringing notifications and actions that create noise, and as a result – we have no way to maintain our privacy, and avoid harming the privacy of our colleagues. In an era where attention deficit disorder is the dominant “epidemic”, it is important that we know how to overcome the movement of sound in the various spaces.

What do we do? When planning work environments, we must take into account the uses that the space allows, and the needs that are required to bring about optimal activity in the space. The functionality of the space requires a different planning concept for each space. For example, when in shared work spaces, we must address the partitions that separate the work stations, unlike open spaces for joint meetings: conference rooms, dining rooms, waiting rooms and entrance spaces. In acoustic design, when social activities are shared, measures that allow for inclusion are important, as opposed to individual work spaces (such as work cubes) that require isolation.

Cascade partitionThe attention to raw materials is not only in the context of functionality and design, but is essential in the context of health and safety. Hecht & Ephraim’s cladding systems allow the designer to avoid the use of hazardous chemicals such as: phenol, formaldehyde and harmful adhesives, and contain very low levels of VOC (harmful volatile organic compounds).

When we come to adapt the acoustic partition to the space, we must examine in depth the planned needs and uses. After a thorough investigation and understanding of the planned space, we can offer diverse solutions that are applied to ceilings, partitions and walls. The insulation materials can be of different degrees of thickness and density. The insulation materials can be combined with different elements to meet the requested needs: a wood chip ceiling, metal with acoustic felt or wool tiles, in one combination or another with wrapped glass wool, can absorb noise at different levels on the one hand while adapting to the planned design of the space.

OLYMPUS suspended wool ceilings are elegant and designed elements that hang in the space in an original way. The same elements in the BUFFEL configuration are additional designed elements, which contribute to the aesthetics of the space but also absorb noise and contribute to the acoustics in a functional way.

The ability to combine effective acoustic insulation with endless design options is precisely the strength of working with the manufacturer Kahecht & Ephraim. Quick response on the ground to any planning or acoustic problem.
