What is ALUSION?
ALUSION is a series of tiles made from a layer of foamed aluminum. The material is created by injecting air into molten aluminum containing a fine dispersion of solid particles. The particles ‘catch’ the bubbles formed in the material, stabilizing and fixing the resulting foam pattern, thus creating the porous texture.

The tiles can line, cover and wrap any space to the required extent. During production, the size and distance between the bubbles can also be adjusted, and different patterns can be created:
For example, dense and large bubbles, with a “spongy” appearance, which captures the most light rays and reflects them back. The panel is lightweight and, due to the delicate nature of the surface, is particularly suitable for interior applications in dim spaces: from an accent wall at the entrance to an elegant gallery, to a combination between lighting fixtures in a hotel lobby ceiling.
In another example, the stabilized bubbles are medium-sized and between them are layers of curved bubbles. The unique wavy pattern created resembles a lava flow, and was used decoratively as a facade covering for large areas, as in the Rubinstein twins’ project.
In the third example, the bubbles are small and far apart, with smooth areas between them that together create a “moon face” look. The tiles in this example are more solid and massive, and can also be used as exterior cladding for various buildings: from a designed facade of a modern museum to a curtain wall cladding of a large commercial center.
Adaptive architectural solution
Along with its aesthetics, ALUSION has additional features that make it an adaptable product that integrates into the broad and diverse construction industry. The panels are assembled on infrastructures in a wide variety of materials (stone, ceramics, wood tiles, etc.), so the cladding is suitable for application in existing buildings. The tiles are also safe to use, do not emit pollutants, and are therefore suitable for spaces with high traffic, such as shopping malls and offices, which still want to maintain a design style and a prominent architectural concept.
ALUSION is integrated as part of the toolbox of many companies involved in green construction, a fact that led Hecht&Aferim to import it exclusively. The finished tiles are made from up to 50% recycled aluminum and after consumption can be recycled a third time, for a full cycle of 100% recycling and giving to Israeli nature.
